The Divine Mermaid

This piece is a view from above looking down on a mermaid who twists and turns in her tub, uncomfortable and tight within the space. The items around her are a moon charm, a safety pin, a key, a gem, a turtle, a compass, a red stone, a hamsa hand, and a worry doll. All to symbolize the magic and opening of the metaphorical door of the mind, trying to find its flow to free itself. The worry doll and compass are navigators through fear and upset. The red stone as a symbol of self love and reflection, the hamsa hand and safety pin for protection. A gem to see how beautiful the mermaid already is. An eye above her allows her to see her own truth.  Surrounded in a build up of gold and purple acrylic paint. The colors of royalty and mysticism on a scrapped wooden slab.

(This is the only mermaid within the series to be a mixed media piece with a saw tooth hanger backing.)
