About

Hello! My name is Destiny Surreal. Influenced by Salvador Dali and words from the poem “Desiderata” that translates to “things desired”. I do believe my parents gave me a name to creatively live up to, and for that I’m grateful.

Originally from Chattanooga, T.N. I took all that I loved and learned as a southern woman and blended it into the work I now create out of Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Firstly, I love painting animals in watercolor. Animals that I was raised with, ones I’m inspired to study, and those I’ve shared my environment with. From Turkey Vultures and Crows that I see daily in my backyard, to the Timber wolves I personally grew up with and ran through the woods of Tennessee with. Animals to me are reflections of human emotions, so I paint that connection and reflection through animal spiritualism and richly blended colors.

Secondly, I love the supernatural and all things magic. The elements, witches, mermaids, folklore, sometimes darker themes. I create what I feel inside, to what empowers me. Sometimes spooky, sometimes ethereal, and usually almost always surreal.

I hope to raise awareness for animal organizations with my art platform like Barnabas Horse Foundation (Murrels Inlet) who I volunteer my time with. My dream is to assist and help under privileged youth create art, because no child should go without access to an art education due to their economic disadvantages. Ever.

My signature holds a key symbol to show my belief that art not only heals the soul but it unlocks the door to one’s personal truth..

Thank you for being a kind light, and taking the time to learn a small part about me and why I’m doing any of this. Your support is cherished and appreciated.
